Né à Hamburg, Allemagne
Le ténor allemand, Wilfried Jochens, a grandi à Hamburg, sa ville natale. Il a étudié la musique à l'université et au State College for Music and Fine Arts, auprès de son professeur Johannes Hoefflin. Il a passé avec succès ses examens : 1970 enseignement musical, 1974 interprète de chant solo (Lied et oratorio), 1979 interprète de chant solo (opéra).
Wilfried Jochens chante en concert depuis 1972, il est un évangéliste très demandé pour les passions de JS Bach. Son répertoire comprend de nombreux oratorios de Bach, Haendel, Monteverdi, Haydn, Mozart et Mendelssohn, ainsi que des cantates, des motets, ou encore des Lieder (Schubert, Schumann, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Strauss, Britten, Berg).
Wilfried Jochens a également interprété des rôles de ténor à l'opéra (Monteverdi, Händel, Mozart).
Il donne des cours d'interprétation au College de Musique de Hamburg depuis 1982.
