Le ténor allemand, Gerd Türk, reçut ses premières leçons de chant avec le Limburger Domsingknaben. A Francfort il étudie la musique sacrée et la direction de choeur. Après avoir enseigné au Speyer Institute of Church Music, il se consacre exclusivement au chant. Il complètera sa formation avec l'étude du chant baroque auprès de René Jacobs et Richard Levitt à la Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Après ses études, Gerd Türk mène une carrière de chanteur qui le conduit en Europe, dans le Sud-est asiatique, aux USA et au Japon. Il s'est produit dans les plus grands festivals de musique ancienne, à Bruges, Utrecht, Stuttgart, Londres, Lucerne et Aix-en-Provence. Gerd Türk est membre du Cantus Cölln et de l'ensemble Gilles Binchois (France.

Gerd Türk enseigne le chant et l'interprétation d'oratorio à Heidelberg.
