Née le 13 septembre 1939 à South Gate, Californie, USA - Décédée le 10 juin 1993 à Leusden, Pays-Bas Soprano colorature avec une technique raffinée Arleen AUGER se fit rapidement connaître notamment lors d'une tournée de concerts avec l'orchestre Philharmonique de Los Angeles. A l'opéra de Vienne, au Metropolitan Opera de New-York, ainsi qu'à ceux de Hambourg, Munich, Salzbourg elle se faisait acclamer dans la Reine de la Nuit (La Flûte enchantée) de Mozart qu'elle incarnait divinement. Elle a également interprété avec succès Konstanze dans l'Enlèvement au Sérail, Gilda dans Rigoletto, Marie dans la fille du régiment ou dans le rôle titre d'Alcina de Haëndel.
